New stock in store
now
We've just taken delivery of lots of great new stock,
including sticky foam discs, wooden discs, fine green netting, sticky white
foam dots, spindles, sheets of thin foam in various colours, green spongey
strips, green plastic webbing, big hollow plastic tubing, small silver plastic
shower tubing, plastic corks, pampering kits, lots of strips of white and
coloured paper, and lots more.
Go to www.oxorinoco.org and click on Gallery at the top of
the page. The new pictures are in the folder labelled ‘New stock 1st October
2010’.
If you're particularly interested in something, you may want
to call us on 01865-761113 before you set out, as some items sell out very
quickly, and we wouldn't want you to waste a journey. However, half the
fun of a scrapstore is browsing and finding what you find.
Swap shop - Saturday 9th October
from 11am to 2pm
Bring along any unwanted items and/or take away someone else’s
+ café.

Oxfordshire Playful Communities Grants
As part of the
‘Oxfordshire Playful Communities’ project the Oxfordshire Play Association
(OPA) has new small grants available for rural communities to run play events
for children and young people aged 0–19 years. The funding is from RASP
(Rural Access to Services Programme) and will be managed by OPA.
Groups can apply
any time until 31st March 2011 for grants from £50 to £300. Successful
groups will also receive support from Jane Gallagher, OPA’s Play Development
Officer, and a toolkit of ideas for running a successful event.
You might consider running a weekend, afterschool
or holiday scrap workshop for your community. If you are
considering applying for funds to book Orinoco
to work with your community, here are some guideline costs:

event support start at £200. Other services on application.
